General Tournament Information

Pre-tournament coaches meetings will not be held. Please read this section carefully.

PAYMENT POLICY
Listed below are the VOC tournament payment policies. Failure to abide by these policies may result in the loss of a tournament spot.
. Registration is based on a "first paid, first entered" basis.
. Final payment is due one month prior to the start of the tournament.
. No refunds will be issued after that date.
. Prior to that date, 80% of the registration fee will be refunded once the registration form has been received.
. Payment must accompany registration form(s) in order for any team to be entered into the VOC.
. A wait list will be kept for each division. Coaches/Managers on the wait list will be contacted in the order their registrations/calls were received. We will contact one coach at a time and give them 24 hours to get in touch with us to confirm entry into the tournament before we move to the next name/team on the list.

AWARDS
Medals will be awarded to the teams finishing 1st through 4th in each division. MVP medals will be awarded to one player from each team in every game. A player may win a game MVP medal only once before the Championship Game. In the Championship Game, all players are eligible for the game MVP. As well, the game MVP of the Championship winning team in each division will receive an MVP trophy. MVP's will be selected by the coaches of each respective team.

BAD WEATHER POLICY
In the event of rain, we will do everything we can to complete the game schedule. However, because of limited field availability, we may have to alter the printed schedule.
. Our first priority will be to ensure each team plays its number of guaranteed games. This may be accomplished by reducing the number of innings played per game.
. We will always attempt to have a Championship Game. We may eliminate the semi-final games in order to achieve this.

Weather Related Refund Policy
Play 1 game - 50% credit or refund
Play 2 or more games - no credit or refund

NO ALCOHOL
Absolutely no alcohol is permitted on any site at the Valley of Champions Baseball Tournament. Failure to follow this regulation will result in the removal from the site and all other VOC venues.

PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICE
There will be on-site photography at some of the venues. The Valley of Champions website will be updated as new information becomes available.

MERCHANDISE/SOUVENIRS Valley of Champions merchandise will be available at each park throughout the tournament. T-shirts, sleeveless T's, necklaces, and hats will be on sale at the souvenir table of each site. # OF GUARANTEED GAMES
Apart from rain delays and bad weather, the Valley of Champions guarantees each team a minimum of 4 games (see Bad Weather Policy above).

TIME LIMITS
Some divisions will be playing under a time limit system. Please see the Rules section under Tournament Info. The official start time of a game is based on the first pitch. Also, Semi-final, Consolation Final and Championship Final games will not be played under a time limit.

NOTE: It is our experience that youth teams take far too long to clear the field and warm up between innings. Please have your team hustle on and off the field and have a catcher ready (with a mask on) to warm up the pitcher if your game catcher is not ready to do so.

PROTESTS
No protests are allowed at the Valley of Champions Baseball Tournament.

PETS
Sorry, dogs are not permitted in the parks. Please make alternative arrangements for your pet.

HOME / VISITING TEAM
Home teams will be marked on the schedule unless a coin toss is required (which will also be marked on the schedule). Home teams will take the 3rd base dugout. If the visiting team is already in the 3rd base dugout due to the previous game, please be courteous and allow them to remain there.

JEWELLERY
Players are not allowed to wear any jewellery during games. The only exception is jewellery worn for medical reasons.

DRESS CODE FOR COACHES
Managers and coaches are not required to be in uniform during games unless required by BC Minor Baseball to do so. However, we do expect the adults on the field to be dressed appropriately.
