For the second straight year the West Kelowna Dbacks won the 18U AAA division in the Valley of Champions tournament. The Dbacks went 3-1 in round robin play, losing only to Victoria Eagles 5-2 in a 6 inning game which was shortened due to rain. The Snakes had wins over the Kelowna Sun Devils (10-2),
Chilliwack Cougars (23-3), and Abbotsford Angels (18-3). The round Robin play set up a rematch with Victoria who went 4-0. In the championship game the Victoria threw their ace pitcher Colton Weibe who had thrown 3 no hitters in a row going into the game, While West Kelowna
responded with Matt Greer, who has had a solid season on the mound. Victoria jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one inning, but in the second inning the Dbacks bats got going as they put up 7 runs and knocked the Victoria starter out of the game. Victoria pushed back in the fourth inning with 3 runs and another 2 in the fifth, but the West Kelowna team added 2 runs in the fifth and another 3 in the 6th to take the wins. Congratulation to all the teams who competed in this years tournament.
